Threads Sharing Guide
How to share Threads posts on WhatsApp
You can send a Threads link directly in WhatsApp, or save the actual photo, sticker or video first and attach it to a chat. The best method depends on whether you want to share the post or the media file.
Share the Threads link directly
Open the Threads post you want to send and tap the share icon. Choose Copy link, open WhatsApp, select a one-to-one chat or group, paste the link into the message box, and send it. This keeps the original Threads post as the source and is usually the quickest option.
A link is different from an uploaded file. The recipient may need to open Threads to view the post, and the preview can change if the post is edited, deleted, private, or no longer available.
Share the actual sticker, photo or GIF
If you want the media to appear inside the WhatsApp conversation, copy the public Threads link and open Threads Sticker Saver. Paste the link, select Extract media, then use the individual Share or Download action for the item you want.
On a phone, the browser may open the system share sheet. Select WhatsApp, choose the contact or group, add a caption if needed, and tap send. If WhatsApp is not shown, download the file first and attach it from WhatsApp using the paperclip or plus button.
Send Threads videos to WhatsApp
For a public Threads video, use the Threads video and photo downloader. After the video is ready, tap Download MP4 or use the system share option if your browser supports file sharing.
WhatsApp may compress a video when you send it as normal media. If preserving the original file matters, attach it as a document when that option is available. This may keep the file closer to its downloaded quality, but the recipient may need to open it separately.
iPhone steps when sharing does not work
Safari can download a file to the Files app instead of Photos. Open Files, find the downloaded item in Downloads, tap the share icon, and choose WhatsApp. For an image that has opened in a preview, use the share sheet and choose Save Image first, then attach it from WhatsApp.
If a group of files fails, share one item at a time. Mobile browsers and messaging apps can reject a large batch even when every individual file is valid.
Android steps when sharing does not work
Android browsers normally save files in the Downloads folder. Open the Files app, select the image, GIF or video, tap Share, and choose WhatsApp. You can also open the WhatsApp chat first and attach the file from Gallery or Files.
If the browser asks for download permission, allow it for the page. If a video opens in a new tab instead of downloading, use the browser menu and choose Download, then attach the saved file manually.
Keep the original creator in mind
A public Threads post can be shared as a link, but public visibility does not automatically give permission to republish the media. Share or reuse content that you created, have permission to use, or are otherwise allowed to use. Ask the original creator before using someone else's sticker, photo or video commercially.
Try it with Threads Sticker Saver
Copy a public Threads post link, paste it into Threads Sticker Saver, and choose Extract media. For videos and photos, you can also use the Threads video and photo downloader. No sign-up or Threads login is required.
