Threads Sharing Guide
How to share Threads media to other apps
The same workflow works for Telegram, Messenger, WeChat, Signal, Discord, email and many other apps: copy a public Threads link for the original post, or download the media first when you need to send the actual file.
Method 1: Send the original Threads link
Open the Threads post, tap Share, choose Copy link, and paste the URL into the destination app. This works in messaging apps, email, notes, community chats and most social platforms.
Link sharing is the best choice when the recipient should see the original author, caption, replies and current post context. It does not create a local copy of the media.
Method 2: Download the media first
When you need to send the sticker, photo, GIF or video itself, paste the public Threads URL into Threads Sticker Saver and select Extract media. Download one item or use the result's share action.
For videos and photos, use the Threads video and photo downloader. A downloaded file is easier to attach when the destination app does not accept a temporary browser URL.
Telegram, Messenger and Signal
Open the app, select a chat, and use its attachment button to choose the downloaded file from Photos, Gallery, Files or Downloads. If the app appears in your phone's share sheet, you can choose it directly after downloading.
Messaging apps often provide separate choices for a photo, video, file or document. Choose the file or document option when you want to preserve the original file instead of letting the app automatically resize it.
WeChat, Discord and email
For WeChat or Discord, open the conversation and attach the downloaded item from your device. For email, create a message and use the attachment button rather than pasting a local file path. Large videos may need a cloud link or a smaller export if the destination has an attachment limit.
If an app is not listed in the browser's share sheet, save the file first. Then start the destination app and attach it from its own file picker. This two-step method works across more devices and browsers.
When the share button only sends a link
A browser may share the page URL instead of the file if it does not support file sharing, if the file has not finished downloading, or if the destination app does not accept that media type. Download the item, open Files or Gallery, tap Share there, and select the destination app.
For a large result, select one or a few items at a time. A failed multi-file share does not necessarily mean that the individual files are invalid.
Phone and desktop differences
On iPhone, downloaded files often go to Files, while images saved through the share sheet may go to Photos. On Android, check Downloads, Files or the browser's download notification. On desktop, save the media to a folder first, then transfer it through cloud storage, a cable, AirDrop, or another method supported by your devices.
The exact buttons can vary by operating system, browser and app version. The reliable sequence is always: copy the public link, extract the media, save the file, then attach it from the destination app.
Respect privacy and rights
This tool is for public links and does not bypass private accounts or sign-in restrictions. Download or share only content you created, have permission to use, or are otherwise allowed to use. Keep the original source when passing someone else's work to another app.
Try it with Threads Sticker Saver
Copy a public Threads post link, paste it into Threads Sticker Saver, and choose Extract media. For videos and photos, you can also use the Threads video and photo downloader. No sign-up or Threads login is required.
